Download Expense Pal from the App Store or Google Play, open the app, and tap Create Account. Enter your email address and a password — that's it. You'll receive a verification email to confirm your address.
The free plan includes up to 30 receipt scans per month, one expense profile, email receipt forwarding, and full spending analytics.

Tap the camera button in the center of the bottom navigation bar. You can take a photo with your camera, choose an image from your gallery, or select multiple images to scan up to 20 receipts at once.
Expense Pal accepts JPEG, PNG, HEIC (iPhone photos), and PDF files. Images are automatically converted and optimized before processing.
Expense Pal uses Google Gemini's vision AI with a confidence scoring system. Most clear receipt photos are processed with over 90% accuracy. Low-confidence results are flagged so you can review and correct any fields.
Yes. Open any receipt and tap any field to edit it — merchant name, date, total, category, currency, or individual line items. All changes are saved immediately.
Each account has a unique inbound email address (found in Settings → Ingestion). Forward any email receipt to that address and it will be automatically scanned and added to your account.
In Settings → Ingestion, enter your WhatsApp number and verify it with a 6-digit code. Once verified, send receipt photos directly to Expense Pal via WhatsApp and they'll be automatically processed.
WhatsApp ingestion is a Pro feature.
Go to Settings → Subscription and tap Upgrade to Pro. You can choose a monthly ($9.99/month) or annual ($89.99/year) plan, and start with a 7-day free trial.
Subscriptions are managed through your device's app store:
iOS: Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions, find Expense Pal, and tap Cancel.
Android: Open the Google Play Store, tap your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, find Expense Pal, and tap Cancel.
Go to Settings → Subscription and tap Restore Purchase. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account used for the original purchase.
Try tapping Restore Purchase in Settings → Subscription. If the issue persists, email us at [email protected] with your order confirmation and we'll resolve it promptly.
On the login screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your email address. You'll receive a reset link within a few minutes. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive.
Go to Settings → Profile and tap Delete Account. This will permanently delete all your receipts, profiles, and account data within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.
You can also email [email protected] to request account deletion.
Tap the export icon in the receipt list (top-right corner). Pro users can export as CSV or PDF with custom date ranges and filters.
Yes. Your data is stored on secure servers, encrypted in transit with TLS, and never sold to third parties. Receipt images are processed by AI APIs solely to extract expense data. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
